DMV Photo Outings announces a 'DMV: On Location' photography competition to earn you money, to get your work published and to get your name out there. There is no fee to enter and each photographer may enter up to images for each e-book.
Subject Matter
The subject matter varies by e-book and the subjects will be displayed on the About the Books page as each upcoming e-book is announced. Subject matters are currently open for night & low light photography. All subjects must be photographed in DC, Maryland or Virginia unless otherwise specified. Submissions will be accepted for any of the current or upcoming books.
Format
All entries must be sharp, high quality images in jpg format at 300dpi. Size of all entries must be 4x6 or larger. Each individual may enter up to 10 images for each upcoming e-book as they are announced. Photographers must submit their image by using the competition submission form by clicking here.
There is no fee to enter.
Entries
All entries remain the property of of the photographer. By submitting an image, the entrant warrants the photo is an original work and that he / she took the photo and has the right to enter the photo in this contest. He / she also grants DMVPhotoOutings.com , unlimited, nonexlusive usage rights, including the right to publish, display, reproduce and / or sell the photo in print or electronic form. DMV Photo Outings, for example, plans to use the images in the upcoming e-book series as well as to display on this website as well as other websites who have agreed to advertise the e-books. The photos may be reproduced on print advertisements as well.
Prizes
The competition offers up to $75 in cash prizes for each e-book. In addition winners will have their photo(s) published along with a credit (to include the photographer's name and link to an online gallery / website) in the e-book. All selected entries will also receive the same credit on the DMV Photo Outings website once the competition ends.
A submitted image selected for the cover of the e-book will win $50. The top three photographs selected for publication within the book will win $25 and / or a free copy of the e-book.
